UMLIFE AC/DC Step-Down Buck Converter

Why I use this

Perfect for when you have AC accessory power and need DC. Dial it in with a meter, fuse it (see the 12AWG waterproof inline fuse holders), and you’ve got a clean 5V or 12V rail without another wall-wart hanging off the enclosure. I keep a few in the truck for gate and access jobs where the transformer is already there and the accessory just wants DC.

Details

Turn accessory AC into clean DC

Lots of gate and access gear already has low-voltage AC accessory power on site (think 12/24VAC transformer legs). When you need a small regulated DC rail for a camera accessory, relay board, or sensor — these UMLIFE AC/DC → DC step-down (buck) modules are the truck-stock answer.

What’s in the pack

  • 4-pack of adjustable LM2596HV-style buck boards
  • Input: AC ~5–30V or DC ~5–48/50V (low-voltage only)
  • Output: adjustable DC (~3–24V common setpoints: 5 / 12 / etc.)
  • ~2A continuous class — treat higher claims as peak / heatsink territory
  • Pot to dial the voltage; measure with a meter before you hook the load

Where it shows up on our jobs

Perfect when you’ve got accessory AC already in the enclosure and need a tidy DC rail without adding another wall-wart. Gate controllers, UniFi Access/Protect accessories, and solar-adjacent installs all hit this pattern.

Important

Not for 120/230VAC mains. These are low-voltage accessory converters. Fuse the input, set the output with a meter before connecting gear, and leave airflow (or a heatsink) if you’re near the current limit. We keep waterproof inline fuse holders on the truck for exactly that.
